The second half of 2024 was all about celebrating milestones and more travel adventures. From celebrating our romantic milestone anniversary in the Maldives to enjoying sun-soaked birthday trips in Greece, reconnecting with loved ones, and celebrating a wedding in Australia, it’s been an unforgettable year.
July: Solo Adventures & Family Fun
In June, after spending some time back in Australia with family and friends, I had a quick trip to Hong Kong and an even quicker trip to China, catching the train across the border and back in the same day just because I could. I then nipped home to Abu Dhabi briefly before hopping back on a plane to Europe for a catch-up with my cousin Leona in Barcelona. We had a great time filled with lots of laughter and sunshine!
August: Quiet Reflections
This month with no travel planned, I had a moment to settle into life in Abu Dhabi, getting to know the area we live in and enjoying spending our evenings by the pool. We spent a few days in Dubai, and Ben had to head overseas for a few days in Uzbekistan for work.
September: Austrian Beauty, Greek Celebrations & Spanish Sights
This month started for me flying into Vienna before I met Ben for a 40th birthday celebration in Greece with our friends Anna and Kyri. From there, work and play took us to Malaga, Spain, and I wrapped up the month with a stop in Rome on my way back to the UAE. Later in the month, we were treated to a desert getaway at Bateen Liwa Resort in the Empty Quarter and a romantic Maldives getaway to celebrate our ten year wedding anniversary at Anantara Veli.
October & November: Family & Friends Down Under
October and November were all about celebrations and time down under. Mid-october I headed to Australia and then spent six weeks travelling around across the east coast reconnecting with friends and loved ones. Ben joined me later after stopping off in New Zealand, and together we enjoyed a fabulous wedding for our friends Anna and Marcus in Melbourne.
December: Wrapping Up With Warmth
We ended the year with a short Dubai staycation alongside our friends Lisa and Chris, followed by a return to our home in Abu Dhabi with our visitors who came for the Grand Prix. We were also able to celebrate a special birthday for Ben’s mum and our first Christmas in the Middle East.
Looking Ahead
In 2025, we’re excited to host friends and family in the UAE, and to catch up with friends and family all around the globe once again, we’re also hoping to include some house-sitting (we miss furry friends!). While we haven’t got the whole year planned yet, we know it will be full of adventures. July promises another incredible opportunity to swim with the humpback whales in Tonga, with plans to add stops in Australia and New Zealand.
