After a busy week exploring different parts of Europe, it was finally time to slow things down. This was my first house sit in over a year, and I was lucky enough to look after two very sweet rescue cats in Zagreb—Peanut Butter and Jerry. They were rescued at just 8 weeks old, and honestly, they were just the loveliest little duo. Total snuggle bugs.

Ben had to head back to the UAE, so this ended up being a solo adventure. I spent the week working remotely and getting to know Zagreb a little better. It’s not a huge city, but it’s got a relaxed vibe, friendly locals, and enough interesting spots to explore in a few days. I wandered around the old town, checked out the Museum of Broken Relationships (surprisingly touching), and ate way too many pastries from local bakeries. Would recommend.

It was a short sit, and soon enough I was on my way home—well, kind of. I flew with Qatar Airways and had a long layover in Doha. If you ever find yourself at Hamad International Airport, the Orchard area is a nice place to stretch your legs, with lots of greenery and spots to chill out.

But here’s my top tip: there are two quiet rooms with proper recliner chairs. If you’ve got the time, you can actually get some solid rest there. Game changer.

Then it was back to the UAE—but not for long! I’ll be heading back to Europe in just under two weeks for another house sit, this time in the Austrian mountains with an Aussie Shepherd named Jasper. Can’t wait.
