If you were looking after our home and pets, we’d want to ask you some questions. Hopefully this section will give you some answers to what you might want to know.
Why do you House Sit
We love pets and travel, and we understand how difficult it can be to leave your home and animals in someone else’s care.
House sitting allows us to live like locals and explore new environments while providing pets with consistent, loving care in their own homes. We enjoy exploring each area responsibly and at a relaxed pace, while taking great pride in a job well done – so you can truly switch off and enjoy your time away.
What experience do you have with pets?
We have extensive experience caring for cats and dogs – growing up with pets, caring for friends’ animals, and working as foster carers in Australia. During this time, we regularly cared for animals with anxiety, behavioural challenges, and special needs, and are confident administering medication, managing special diets, and maintaining structured routines.
We also have experience caring for birds and fish, and are comfortable following detailed care instructions for a wide variety of animals (Sam does draw the line at spiders!).
How do you spend your downtime?
We enjoy getting out and exploring, we love hiking and spending time near the water when weather allows. That said, when house sitting, pets and home care always come first, and our activities are planned around their needs and routines.
How practical are you around the home?
We’re practical, capable, and comfortable caring for a wide range of homes. This includes managing day-to-day issues, following detailed instructions, caring for gardens and plants, and assisting with minor maintenance tasks. We’ve also looked after homes with specific maintenance requirements, and are happy coordinating tradespeople if needed.
Do you work?
Samantha works remotely part-time and Ben consults between travels or remotely when required. This means there is often someone home for a large portion of the day, providing consistency and company for pets.
On occasion, Samantha may complete a house sit independently. In these cases, the same level of care, communication, and responsibility applies, and expectations are always discussed and agreed upon in advance.
While we enjoy travel, we always separate our house sitting responsibilities from our adventures — your home and pets are our sole priority during a sit.
Driving and getting about
Samantha is the driver and Ben is the expert navigator, together we’ve driven all types of vehicles (left and right hand drive, automatic and manual) across all types of terrain. We prefer to have access to a vehicle during our sits (if we are flying in and public transport is not available) as it makes activities like collecting groceries and taking pets out so much easier, if needs be we are happy to cover excess on insurance and find most insurance does cover occasional additional drivers.
Contracts and references
We are more than happy to sign a “house sitting agreement” if needs be but to date we’ve not had to. You will also find a selection of our most recent reviews and references on this page.

A short video from 2019 to introduce ourselves and show you were are real people, this video is interrupted by the cutest puppy and lots of laughs! – Thanks for checking us out! This is probably due for an update soon as we’ve a few more wrinkles and experience since then!
