Our last sit in Canada for the winter took us over to Vancouver Island, which was a half day’s travel from Squamish including a ferry to Swartz Bay where we met Gregg & Sue and their lovely dogs, Sailor, Abby and Olive. After a quick tour we went off for a walk with the dogs at the local beach and then enjoyed a nice dinner together.
We spent our mornings discovering the island and enjoyed kayaking right from the house where we even had a close encounter with a bob of harbor seals. We also spotted otters and porpoises from the garden, visited the
We visited Cathedral Grove where there are huge 700 year old trees and walked along the coast on the ‘wild side’just outside of Sooke. There is lots of great spots for kiteboarding here so of course we’d like to return in the summer.
We are spending a couple days with friends on toute to the Yukon which is unseasonably warm but not nearly as warm as our next destination in the Caribbean!
