After exploring St Lucia and enjoying a fabulous week back in the sunshine at the BodyHoliday it was time to head to Antigua for our Ondeck RYA sailing course.
We were joined by two other guests, Vicky from the USA who is off to complete an Atlantic crossing and Alistair from England who coincidentally is off to the BodyHoliday post his course. Our instructor Justin is also from the UK and together we learned to sail the best part of the way around the island over four nights and five days. We slept on-board the ‘Spirit of Neptune’ including a night at anchor in Deep Bay and between Jolly and English Harbours the other nights.
By day 5 we were all feeling a lot more confident in our abilities and are happy to report a 100% pass rate.
It was also great to have some time offline though I still managed to get some work in on-board.
We have another two weeks in beautiful Antigua and plan to spend most of that time kiteboarding in Jabberwock beach and we’ve just volunteered as travel buddies for ‘Dogs & Cats of Antigua’ helping to rehome dogs in the USA when we head over to New York for Easter.
