Our most recent sit took us out to Bribie island, about an hour north of Brisbane. Bribie Island is 34km long and in places up to 8km wide and surrounded by dolphins playing in the shallow waters, which we loved seeing on our daily walks and stand-up paddle adventures.
We were on the Island looking after Ava, a gorgeous 3 year old Labrador for almost a month. She was super easy to look after and enjoyed our company all day during the week but we made the most of our weekends and freedom here in Queensland.
While we spent most of our time working (Ben) and continuing my web development studies – we were also able to get out for an afternoon walk at Mt Tibrogargen circuit, not far from the house. The walk was an easy 60 mins, it was a beautiful warm day and it was so lovely to see the spring flowers and the Glasshouse mountains.
We also took to the water with our stand up paddle board and enjoyed several days of kiteboarding when the wind matched our schedules. There were some days that only Ben could go out because the wind was too strong or the waves too high, this is him out alone off Woorim beach.

We have found that house sitters are in high demand around Queensland with lots of locals getting away within the state and we are now almost completely booked until the end of November, when border openings allowing we are hoping to start heading down south. You can check out our availability here. But in the meantime we are enjoying the Queensland lifestyle, the weather is heating up and we plan to spend as much time as possible outside enjoying it.

We are now in inner city suburb Red Hill, for a week and we’ve already been to a rugby match at the Suncorp Stadium and enjoyed a delicious breakfast at nearby Gramps Café – we’re joined by the lovely Ivy and Molly but we’ll share more about them and our on-going adventures in our next blog.
