We are off on our first THS house sitting adventure today, we’ll fly from Melbourne to Los Angeles with Virgin, then we’ll connect through to Vancouver with Air Canada. It’s a 14.5 hour flight first up then a 5 hour layover and another few hours to our destination (Oh how I wish we were flying business class). But even though we’ll be in economy it’s business as usual with inflight WIFI available throughout.
When we arrive we’ll spend 4 nights in Kitsilano looking after a gorgeous Bengal Nala, from there we’ll explore downtown Vancouver, including Gastown, Vancouver’s most historic neighbourhood and plan to orientate ourselves and try to overcome jet lag by exploring on foot as much as we can around our work schedules.
Here is a photo of Nala, our first official house and cat sit in Canada. We are looking forward to meeting her tomorrow.
We’ll meet our next charges, Bear and Ginger and their humans Tuesday afternoon over in Horseshoe Bay, West Vancouver where we’ll be based until mid-February. We’ll also be working from 2pm to 10pm locally each day to stay on Australia hours (9am-5pm) and we are looking forward to lots of hikes with our new furry friends.
It’s also Australia day this weekend so while we’ll miss our dear friends birthday celebration (Happy Simon Day!) we are super excited to have a long weekend to explore Vancouver and surrounds.
